Statistical Techniques
and Attitudes Toward Science Lab
The STATS Lab allows students to work with me on two of my focal research interests: attitudes toward science, and statistical techniques used for scale development. For example, recently we've began exploring how individual differences, such as personality and thinking styles, can predict attitudes toward and knowledge of climate change and theory of evolution. One goal of this research is to help find improvements for education in climate change and evolution and, more generally, science education. In my statistics research, I use computer simulations to develop and evaluate quantitative methods used in psychological scale development and model testing.
