Stephen D. Short, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Psychology, College of Charleston
About Steve
I grew up in Luray, Virginia, a small town located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. I received my B.S. in psychology from Christopher Newport University, in Newport News, Virginia, and I received my M.A., and Ph.D. in quantitative psychology from the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas. I am now an associate professor of psychology at the College of Charleston, located in historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina.
Outside of academia, you'll find me with my wife spending as much time as I can outdoors at nearby beaches and nature preserve parks, hiking, kayaking, cycling, running, and camping. I greatly enjoy traveling, scuba diving, and talking way too much about our Boston terrier, Norton. I'm nearly always listening to music of some kind. I enjoy learning new cooking techniques from our travels, and I can be found wandering around our home garden. I also love experimenting in my mini-homebrewery where I've been crafting beer for over 10 years.
